Xikuembo na Biblioteca Operária Oeirense : : a expressão da minha matriz intercultural/ My intercultural matrix : : Xikuembo at Oeiras Working Library

Foi com muito orgulho que expus, de 20 a 30 de Maio, as minhas obras reunidas sobre o título Xikuembo (em Xironga, uma língua nativa moçambicana, Xikuembo significa espírito, mas, no seu uso quotidiano pela população europeia, na era colonial, o vocábulo evoluiu, semanticamente, para feitiço), na lindíssima Biblioteca Operária Oeirense (BOO), com o tão amável patrocínio da Junta de Freguesia de Oeiras e S. Julião da Barra (JFO).Gostaria de agradecer, mais uma vez, a amabilidade da JFO na pessoa do Senhor Presidente Carlos Morgado e do Dr. Manuel Machado, bem como da da BOO na pessoa da Senhora Directora, que me permitiram, deste modo, mostrar ao público as minhas obras nos ramos da pintura, bijutaria, instalação estética, objectos e móveis de autor.

Como antiga colaboradora no Boletim Informativo da Junta, sou testemunha do tão meritório apoio que esta instituição confere a iniciativas culturais de vária índole, com base num elevado espírito de responsabilidade cultural e social.

It is an honour for me to exhibit my works, all gathered under the title Xikuembo (in Xironga, a native Mozambican language, Xikuembo means spirit, but it semantically evolved to witchcraft within everyday communication at the colonial era), from the 20th to 30th May, at Oeiras Working Library (OWL), kindly sponsored by the Oeiras and St. Julian´s Junta de Freguesia (OSJJF).I would like to thank the President Carlos Morgado and the Cultural Director Dr. Manuel Machado as well as the Director of OWL, who gave me the chance to show by works in painting, jewellery, artistic installations, objects and furniture.

As a previous collaborator of the OSJJF Informative Magazine I am a witness of the overwhelming support that this institution offers to diverse cultural initiatives, based upon a high level of cultural and social responsibility.
